I keep having dreams about my ex partner and a man chasing me with a knife. Sometimes I dream about water and not being able to see behind me, and sometimes the dreams scare me! I was upset when I dreamed of my ex partner as I still care about him. Does this mean anything to you? Please help me.

Your ex partner in the dream indicates your feelings towards this person, whilst the stranger indicates that you feel that you are not comfortable with other males as much as you were with your ex.
Basically this dream pattern is trying to show your innermost feelings and that you are still suffering a sence of frustration since your breakup. The knife can be symbolic of the aggressive, angry side you have also been feeling.
Fear normally is expressed as an obstacle you need to over come (in your case your emotions for you ex) which are hindering your progress in moving on.
