Hi i have had reoccuring dreams in my life of being chased down this road that leads me to a house. This house is very big and inviting however as soon as i get inside I get scared. In one dream in particular I kept being tempted by things that I miss and love alot but all my family keeps saying no dont its evil hes just trying to turn you so ultimately i dont.
Then i go into the basement and it turns into the house i lived in as a small child i hear a baby crying and i go into the room to get it. there is a woman in the dream and she says ed dont let her take the baby this man says may we have to let her hold her baby she needs to hold her at least once. I go into the next room and fall esleep peacefully with the baby in my arms.
All the sudden I am woken by my brother and nephew who passed away many years ago. My brother takes the baby from me and I tell him to give her back. He picks me up and tells me that i have to leave now before its to late that its not my time yet and hes just trying to take me I assume he to be the evil they all were telling me to walk away from in the beginning of the dream. I say that i am not leaving without my baby and my brother takes the baby from me and says ive looked after her all of this time ill look after her until you are meant to be back together. then pushes me out the door and i wake up fully and overwhelmed.
I called my mother after having this dream and told her about it and apparently may and ed are my grandparents who i never knew as they passed before i was born.
Although I feel at ease most of the time when having these dreams when my family who i know and love come around me i get scared why would i be afraid of my own brother who is doing nothing in the dream but trying to look out for me. I originally thought this dream meant they are all looking out for me and protecting me still but I just cant understand the fear. Also I really feel as if i was visiting the after life somehow during this dream is that possible help

It’s certainly possible to visit the afterlife in your dreams, in fact many people do so. The best way to know if it is real or not is the vividness of the dream and your recall of it. If you can remember it in detail – which it appears that you do – then it’s likely to be a visit with people from the other side. If you turn around to face whoever is facing you, you will find out what it is you are running from and the dream will most likely end. What you are running from is not as scary as the dream makes it out to be.
The first part of your dream where you are going around the house into different rooms is symbolic of you looking into the different aspects of yourself. There is something inside you that is unresolved that you don’t want to face – hence the fear. Your being scared is you trying to avoid facing something, most likely from your childhood as you are in your childhood home. Your grandparents, were there to help you protect you from yourself.
Babies in dreams represent changes, new ideas and new things coming into your life. These changes you feel comfortable about hence your falling asleep with the baby. Your brother was there to bring you ‘back to reality’ so that you can go and implement these changes into your life. It also shows that he’s still watching out for you.
